My name is Justin LeSieur. Layla Cat Publishing is my little corner of the world where storytelling, stubborn ambition, and a sleepy tabby cat all meet. By day, I'm a project manager based in Minneapolis; wrangling timelines, budgets, and the occasional existential crisis. But in the early morning hours, before the rest of the city wakes up, I'm an aspiring writer chasing down stories with a tone that drifts towards the dry humor and offbeat charm of a Cohen Brothers film.
The name Layla Cat Publishing comes from my muse: a tabby rescue named Layla who curls up in her bed on my desk and naps through every sentence I write. She's been there for every idea, every rewrite, every "this is terrible" and every "wait, maybe it works."
This imprint is my way of bringing my stories into the world independently, authentically, and with a little mischief around the edges.
There's more on the way, so stick around. I'll be posting shorter pieces, behind-the-scenes notes, and the occasional early-morning ramble as the stories take shape. If you'd like a free short story (PDF) and updates on upcoming book releases, you can sign up for the newsletter. Thanks for stopping by. Layla and I are glad you're here.
